WNED Buffalo NY 970

WZAN is hard to get around but if you hear BBC World Service on 970 you have probably tuned in to WNED in Buffalo. It is hard to find identifications but I succeeded January 25 2009. Today John R. WOTE Clintonville WI 1380

Oldies on 1380 use to be the Canadian but sometimes WOTE Clintonville is on top. They are nowadays "Oldies 13-80". I heard their liner some months ago and sent a reminder today and VP Donald Grassman verified my reception. I used a gmail address found on Google.

KDBM Dillon MT 1490

Not an easy catch here. Too many stations on this channel! I have heard them just once so I was really happy today Jo Ann Juliano, Owner, sent an email saying " ......It is always nice to hear from you folks. Yes, that is KDBM-AM. .....". She also tells me that they are improving their web page at the moment.

CKAT North Bay ON 600

I heard CKAT with a weather forecast and a station jingle on January 18 and today Kevin Oschefski Promotions Director verified my reception. Thank you for QSL Kevin!

WOON Woonsocket RI 1240

January 18 between 07 and 08 UTC WOON run a test with both voice and morse code IDs. The morse code was easily detected this side of the pond but the voice disappeared in the pile up of other stations. Today I received a mail from Dave Richards confirming my reception. He also promised another reply. Thank you Dave for the test and QSL. This was a new state for me!

WGIV Pineville NC 1370

When conditions are good towards the East Coast and WDEA fades down it is not impossible to receive WGIV. They are easily recognized from the slightly high frequency and the religious programs. Today George Dunlap verified that I have received his show. My thanks to George and to Jan Edh for contact information.

WGAN Portland ME 560

When CHVO left 560 some months ago it became much easier to log WGAN. It has been logged here several times this winter. Today Jeff Wade verified my reception with a brief email.

WIRL Peoria IL 1290

This is a really DX-friendly station with a special DX-Page on the home page. Chief Engineer Wayne R Miller is responsible for this page and also verified my reception report with a PDF-QSL attached to his mail.

KABQ Albuquerque NM 1350

This station was heard with rather good strength on January 18. This is the first and so far only time I have logged a station from New Mexico, so I was very happy today when Program Director Phil Mahoney verified my reception. State #47 in the US. I am still missing VT, AZ, RI and DE.

XECPN La Mexicana Piedras Negras 1320

This station was one of many stations from México coming through January 25 2009. I sent a snail mail report with a CD with an audio clip and today Juan Carlos Bourget Macmanus Gerente General verified my report with an email written in English. He also attached 4 photos and a PowerPoint presentation of MegaRadio.

WMCS Greenfiled WI 1290

I have tried several times to QSL WMCS with no luck until today when John Church Director of Engineering sent an email with an attached QSL-letter as a pdf-file. Thank you John!
